Carjacking Suspect Steals 3 Cars, Arrested After Wrecking

LONE TREE, Colo. (KUSA) – "I thought I was going to die," Stacy Rader said after being hit at full speed by a carjacking suspect at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Peoria Street.

The driver that hit Rader got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Within minutes alleged carjacker, Ryan Stone, was taken into custody by authorities.

"Oh, my God, I was crying. I didn't know if I was gonna die or if I was hurt. I didn't know," Rader said. "I was just spinning."

Rader was checked by paramedics on scene and was able to leave with her husband uninjured.

"I see this car coming at me that has run the red light coming at me at a really fast speed and he just T-bones me," Rader said. "I just thought someone ran a red light. And then, I see all of these police on foot chasing somebody."

According to Rader, police told her that she'd been hit by the carjacking suspect that she had been listening about on the radio as she was driving her Toyota Camry Hybrid.

The suspect was driving the third stolen car of the morning. The first stolen car was a 2008 red Ford Edge, which he allegedly stole from a gas station in Longmont. In this vehicle was a 4-year-old boy, who is safe. An Amber Alert was issued soon after the Ford Edge was stolen.

Stone is accused of carjacking two more vehicles before he was captured, a gold minivan and a silver sedan. The 4-year-old boy, Allan Chavarria-Rodriguez, was found safe inside the red SUV that was abandoned along I-76.
