Elderly Woman Knocked Unconscious During Pharmacy Robbery Dies at Hospital

Elderly woman knocked unconscious during robbery (November 30, 2017)

CITRUS HEIGHTS, California -- According to Citrus Heights Police, the elderly woman who was knocked unconscious during a pharmacy robbery has passed away.

The robbery happened at the Rite Aid on Auburn Blvd. just before 6 p.m. Monday. 

When officers arrived, they learned that three people walked into the store jumped over the pharmacy counter, demanding drugs from the employees. 

Fearing for their lives, the employees handed over an unknown amount of prescription drugs. 

The suspects ran out of the store, knocking an 86-year-old woman, who was walking into the store, to the ground. She was knocked unconscious when she hit the ground. 

When first responders arrived the woman did not have a pulse, but officers and fire officials began CPR and other life-saving measures. She was taken to a local area hospital in critical condition where she passed away just days after her 87th birthday.

The three suspects are described as black men, believed to be between 18 and 20-years-old. 

The first suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded zip up sweatshirt, black gloves, and black and white shoes. 

The second suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with "100" across the chest and blue jeans. 

The third suspect had medium length twists in his hair and was wearing a blue, black, and grey camouflage hooded zip up sweatshirt, black pants with a white stripe on the sides, and white and black shoes.
