Protesters Put Evicted Veteran Back In Foreclosed House

SEATTLE-- A group of protesters formed a human chain to block the eviction of a Vietnam veteran, who is now disabled, and his family from their Seattle home.

Triangle Properties purchased the home, which has been foreclosed, and plans to demolish it. Byron and Jean Barton chained themselves to their bed this morning, but King County Sheriff's deputies removed the couple and changed the locks.

Protesters laid down under an ambulance that was ready to take Byron to the veteran's hospital.

Even after the eviction, the group said they would stay to demonstrate and defend the Barton's home, calling the eviction an immoral act.
