Wasp Causes Coke Truck To Crash Into Fish Market

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The driver of the tractor trailer that crashed into a fish market Wednesday said a wasp got into the truck cab and contributed to the crash.

The semi first hit a Jacksonville Transit Authority bus before ending up inside Discount Seafood located in the 1300 block of Beaver Street at North Myrtle Avenue.

The crash caused the building to partially collapse. It was demolished overnight.

The building had been around since World War II, say long time residents.

One says the convenience of the market will be missed. "My mom and dad came here in the 60's. Everyone shopped here. To see it come down is sad very sad," said Serena Clark.

Five people had non-life threatening injuries. Two were in the market. Three were on the bus.

It is unclear if the owner will rebuild the market.
