WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The city of Winston-Salem celebrated the opening of a brand new fire station on Thursday.
Fire station 8 is on Reynolda Road. The new station has 2 large bays for fire trucks, which is double the size of the station it's replacing. The old fire station was built in the 1950s and was one of the oldest stations in the city.
Voters approved a bond for over two and a half million dollars back in 2014 to pay for the new fire station.
