Trump blames Clinton campaign for sexual misconduct allegations

A little more than halfway through Wednesday night's debate in Las Vegas, the subject that has dominated the campaign in recent days was raised: the numerous allegations against Donald Trump of sexual misconduct.

Moderator Chris Wallace asked why so many women would make up an allegation that was false.

Trump said the accusations have been "largely debunked."

"I have a feeling how they came" about, Trump added, blaming Hillary Clinton's campaign.

"I didn't do anything," the GOP nominee maintained.

“These women … I think they want either fame or her campaign did it,” Trump said, adding that he thought it was her campaign.

In her response, Clinton cited some of Trump's defenses against the allegations, including one where he suggested a woman's charge wasn't true because she wouldn't be his "first choice."

“Donald thinks belittling women makes him bigger," Clinton said.  "He goes after their dignity, their self worth.”

"That's who Donald is," Clinton said.

“Nobody has more respect for women than I do," Trump countered.
