PIEDMONT-TRIAD, NC -- A few quick bursts of snow brought a dusting of snow to parts of the Piedmont Tuesday night.
Stokes County, Wilkes County, and parts of Surry County saw some sticking snow, with flakes flying in other area.
A very strong cold front brought incredibly cold air on fierce winds. These cold winds carried snow showers from the Great Lakes to the Appalachians.
Typically, these snow showers fizzle out once they leave the mountains, but a few survived into the Piedmont.
A light dusting was reported in parts of Mount Airy.
Folks in western Wilkes County saw a light dusting as well. In Stokes County, a coating of snow fell near the Virginia border. These areas all saw significant snow back on Friday and Saturday.
In the rest of the Triad area, a few flakes could be seen falling at times, without any accumulation.
