Students Show Off Ice-Skating Robot At WFMY News 2 Winterfest

Students brought their ice-skating robot to Winterfest on Saturday. They have a robotics competition coming up in January.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Have you ever seen an ice-skating robot?

Neither have we! But a group of Guilford County students showed off their unique robot at WFMY News 2 Winterfest on Saturday.

The robot named "Janus" carried large containers across the ice and even performed some 360-degree spins.

The student robotics team known as Triple Strange tested out the robot on the ice for an upcoming competition.

Triple Strange has been competing since 2004 and is part of ECG Robotics, a local nonprofit that supports five other student robotics teams.
