Pair Of Wrecks Cause Delays On Wendover Avenue

GREENSBORO - A pair of accidents made for a messy morning commute for some Greensboro drivers on Wendover Avenue.

Greensboro officials received calls at 8:34 for two accidents on Wendover. Police along with Fire and EMS were dispatched to the corner of Wendover and Tri-City Boulevard that involved a car and a Duke Power pole.

A release from the city states a 73-year old woman, Suzanne Stowell Sherwood from Jamestown, was driving a Lincoln MKZ headed east when the car drifted left, crossing all westbound lanes and completely running off the roadway. She collided with a power pole and was transported to Moses Cone Hospital with serious injuries. No other vehicles were involved. 

Duke Power was called on to repair the lines. 

Another accident involving two cars at the intersection of Wendover and Virginia Street temporarily shut down westbound lanes on Wendover.  A red Ford Focus was seen turned upside down beside the road while a red Chrysler Town & Country minivan was being towed away. Minor injuries were reported with the crash.
