GREENSBORO, NC -- If you've thought it's been warm to start the year, you're right. In fact, 2017 has already set records for warmth in the Piedmont, and it's now on pace for the warmest year in Triad history.
The month of April just wrapped up, and was the warmest on record here in the Triad. You'll remember that back in February, we also had an incredibly warm month, which set a record for warmest February as well.
Taking the first four months together, 2017 is off to the warmest start of a calendar year on record here in the Triad by a full 0.5°.
But where do we go from here? It's still unclear how warm the remainder of the year will shape out, but 2017 is already on track to be well above average.
