CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Fire Department says firefighters involved in a truck crash last month were disciplined.
The fire engine overturned last month at Ardrey Kell and Bridgehampton roads while responding to an emergency call.
The department suspended the driver without pay for two weeks and the onboard captain was suspended without pay for one week.
Four firefighters were on board at the time. They were treated for minor injuries.
Speed was determined to be a factor in the crash.
All vehicle operators will be required to complete and emergency vehicle operations course by the end of the year.
