$12K In Coins Stolen From Danville Business: Police

DANVILLE, NC - Over $12,000 was stolen from a Danville business Thursday morning, but not in cash... they stole the money in mostly quarters and coins. 

According to Danville Police, sometime during Wednesday night and Thursday morning someone broke into Associated Services on River Park Drive. 

The suspect or suspects then took the $12,000 in coins. Police say most were quarters with some still in plastic and paper coin wrappers. 

If the suspects only stole quarters that would be over 48,000 quarters, weighing approximately 600 pounds. 

Police are asking for any merchant or financial institution that sees an unusual quantities of coins to call police.
