Eating Disorder Experts Concerned Over New Doll Toy

CBS (KVOR) -- There's a new doll about to hit store shelves that looks alot like a really baby and acts like a picky eater.

The doll called the "Nenuco Won't Eat Doll" will hit store shelves in the spring. The doll refuses to eat food shaking its head from side to side. Some parents find it harmless while others have a different opinion about the doll.

Jennifer Lombardi, an Eating Disorder Expert and Anorexia survivor thinks the doll sends the wrong message, "Because honestly, who is going to play with this doll? Probably a girl between the ages of 5 and 7 and as somebody in the field of eating disorders I can tell you we are assessing kids at those young ages and they are coming into treatment for eating disorders."

The new doll will open its mouth but only when you force it to eat. According to KVOR, the doll's maker out of Spain, says it's not encouraging eating disorders. Instead they say it's teaching kids the importance of eating healthy.

The new doll will sell for $57.95.
