Naked Man Seen At Guilford County Park: Sheriff

OAK RIDGE, NC - A naked man has been spotted around Oak Ridge Town Park according to the Guilford County Sheriff's Office.

Detective B.W. Douglas says he recently got a call from Oak Ridge Mayor Spencer Sullivan, who reported someone had seen a naked older white man walk out of the woods holding his genitals between 6 and 7 a.m. Detectives contacted the person who reached out to the Mayor. The complainant said they'd seen him six to seven times and followed him to take a picture of him and his car. Deputies eventually tracked down the accused man.

Douglas says the man can't be charged with indecent exposure unless the genitals are exposed. In each case, the man was covering his genitals. The suspected offender was served with a trespass letter to the park and is now not allowed anywhere on park property.

The sheriff's office says the man isn't homeless and they don't know a motive.

Sheriff BJ Barnes reported that several reports of the man have come in during October and November.

Anyone with information should call Detective Douglas at (336) 641-2309.
