Two Sent To Doctor After Rabid Cow Reported In Davidson Co.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC - Two people have been sent to the doctor after a rabid cow was reported in the Gum Tree community. 

While a cow is not a usual animal you would think would have rabies, contact wild animal's saliva can expose you to the virus. 

If there are stray dogs, cats, or wildlife in your neighborhood, call Animal Control at 336-249-0131. Call the Rabies Hot Line at 336-249-2348 if you or your pet come in contact with another animal.

This is the 4th report of rabies in the county this year.
