Northern Guilford Beats Charlotte Catholic, Wins 3rd Straight State Title

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- T.J. Logan ran for a state-finals record 510 yards and eight touchdowns to help Northern Guilford beat Charlotte Catholic 64-26 in the Class 3-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship Saturday night.

Logan's huge performance gave the Nighthawks (15-0) a third straight state championship while making him the game's MVP.
Logan ran for touchdowns of 46, 27 and 80 yards by halftime to help Northern Guilford to a 29-14 lead.

Then, after Charlotte Catholic (13-2) scored to close the gap to nine, Logan ran for an 85-yard touchdown 12 seconds later to start a personal run of four unanswered touchdowns.

Logan also ran for scores of 19, 14, 82 and 73 yards.

Elijah Hood ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cougars, who were trying to win their first title since 2005
