WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest and the University of Louisiana at Monroe today announced a two-year home and home football series between the two schools. ULM will visit BB&T Field on Sept. 14, 2013. The Demon Deacons will make the return trip to Monroe on August 31, 2014.
The addition of the University of Louisiana at Monroe finalizes Wake Forest's 2013 non-conference schedule. The Deacons will open with Presbyterian on either Thursday, August 29 or Saturday, August 31, host ULM on Sept. 14, visit Army on Sept. 21 and close the regular season at Vanderbilt on Nov. 30.
ULM, a member of the Sun Belt Conference, went 8-5 in 2012 and finished tied for second in the conference with a 6-2 record. The Warhawks opened the season with a 34-31 overtime win at No. 8 Arkansas and finished the year with a 45-14 loss to Ohio University in the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl. ULM played four overtime games in 2012, winning three of them.
The remaining eight games on the 2013 Wake Forest schedule will be ACC games. The ACC will announce the conference schedule at a later date.
