WSSU Rams Men's Hoops Crack The NABC Top 10 In Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One day before the NCAA releases its first regional rankings for the 2012-13 season, the top of the latest NABC/Division II rankings has a distinct western flavor to it.

Of the top five teams in the rankings, four are from the western half of the nation, led by the last two undefeated teams in the Division II ranks in Metropolitan State and Western Washington. West Liberty - the only non-Western school in the top five - comes in at No. 3, followed by two more from the NCAA's West Region in Cal Poly Pomona and Seattle Pacific.

Despite suffering a loss last week, Florida Southern retained the sixth spot in the poll - teams ranked sixth through 13th all lost at least once during the last week - while Winston-Salem State jumps seven spots to No.7. Alabama-Huntsville, Minnesota State and East Stroudsburg all dropped one position each to round out the top 10.

Drury, who is currently in the midst of an 11-game winning streak, begins the second 10 at No. 11, followed by Saint Anselm, Wisconsin-Parkside, Indiana (Pa.) and Bellarmine. A fourth member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, Southern Indiana, comes in at No. 16 and Fort Lewis vaulted five spots to 17th this week. The top 20 is completed this week by is trailed by Winona State, Lincoln Memorial and Saint Leo.

The final five teams in this week's poll are Newman, St. Cloud State, Franklin Pierce, Gannon and Dixie State.
