Greensboro, NC (Sports Network) - P.J. Hairston netted 21 points to lead the third-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels to the ACC Tournament semifinals with an 83-62 win over the Florida State Seminoles at Greensboro Coliseum.
Reggie Bullock tallied 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds for North Carolina (23-9), which will face seventh-seeded Maryland in the semifinals. James Michael McAdoo and Dexter Strickland added 12 and 10 points, respectively, while Marcus Paige reached double digits in assists (10) for the first time in his career.
Michael Snaer shot 8-of-12 from the floor and 3-of-5 from behind the arc to lead Florida State (18-15) with 20 points before fouling out.
The Tar Heels led 35-27 at the break after knocking down five triples while folding FSU to 0-of-3 from behind the arc. UNC also took care of the ball with just four turnovers while forcing 10 Seminoles' miscues.
UNC used a 12-0 run early in the second half to pull away after FSU had cut the deficit to 35-31. The Tar Heels shot 61.3 percent in the final 20 minutes.
UNC had 20 assists while FSU managed just eight. The Tar Heels improved to 45-12 all-time over the Seminoles.
