CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Leaders in Charlotte are scheduled to meet to take a second look at providing financial help for the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a deal to keep them in the city.

The Charlotte Observer reports that the city's economic development committee is slated to meet Thursday at noon in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center.

Committee members will discuss how to help the team, now that the General Assembly has passed a bill that would allow the city to use existing convention center dollars for the Panthers.

The Panthers originally asked the city for $144 million for improvements to Bank of America Stadium. The team also asked the state for $62.5 million, but Gov. Pat McCrory and legislative leaders have said there is no money available for the team.
