Burlington, NC -- A man in Burlington is in stable condition after he was shot multiple times in his chest and abdomen, according to police.
Officers received a call of shots fired around South Graham Hopedale Road and North Mebane Street shortly after 1 am Thursday, but found no witnesses. Police were redirected to Alamance Regional Medical Center after they said an off-duty officer working at the hospital notified them a gunshot victim was taken to the emergency room.
Investigators learned he was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle. They said he was in stable condition and would be transferred to a trauma center.
Police are not releasing the man's name until his family has been notified of his injuries.
