WINSTON-SALEM N.C.- The Winston-Salem Dash took their Wednesday afternoon contest with the Potomac Nationals by a score of 4-1 at BB&T Ballpark thanks to a three-run homer by Adam Heisler in the sixth.

Both starting pitchers came out very strong as Chris Bassitt and A.J. Cole both kept their opponents off the board through three frames. Cole would leave after the third so he can participate in the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, and the Dash (10-10, 48-42) would take advantage against Potomac's bullpen.

Brian Dupra (0-3) came on in the fourth for Cole and struggled with his control. The righty gave up an infield single and a pair of free passes, loading the bases for Josh Richmond. Richmond drew the third walk of the inning from Dupra to bring Chris Curley home and break the scoreless deadlock.

Bassitt surrendered just one hit through five innings, but the Nationals (11-7, 53-34) got to the right-hander in the sixth. Caleb Ramsey notched his second base hit of the afternoon to lead off the inning. After moving into scoring position on a ground out, he came around to tie the game on a single by Cutter Dykstra, which ended Bassitt's afternoon one out shy of a quality start.

Winston-Salem took the lead right back in the bottom half. Richmond drew a walk and Grant Buckner singled, ending the afternoon for Dupra. Colin Bates came on for the P-Nats, surrendering the Heisler homer which proved to be the contest's decisive hit. Heisler's homer is the 81st by the Dash this year, which ties Frederick for the most among Carolina League clubs.

Jarrett Casey (2-3) tossed an inning and one-third of scoreless relief to earn his second win of the season before turning things over to Brandon Hardin. The righty would twirl a pair of scoreless frames to earn his second career High-A save.

The Dash and Nationals wrap up this four-game series Thursday night at BB&T Ballpark with two All-Star right-handers facing off. Chris Beck (8-8, 3.08 ERA) will be on the mound for Winston-Salem, while Potomac will send Blake Schwartz (6-3, 2.92 ERA) to the hill. Coverage on wsdash.com begins with the Pregame Dash at 6:45, and first pitch is scheduled for 7.

The Dash finish off their eight-game homestand on Thursday night with Armed Forces Night at BB&T Ballpark
