TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Wake Forest senior flanker Michael Campanaro has been named to the 2013 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List as announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation on Tuesday.
Campanaro was also named to the watch list prior to the 2012 season.
The Clarksville, Md. native, has caught 152 passes over the past two seasons. In just 10 games last season, he hauled in 79 receptions for 763 yards and six touchdowns while garnering second team All-ACC honors.
Campanaro enters the 2013 season with a streak of 21 straight games with at least one reception. He ranks fifth in school history with 162 career receptions and needs just 55 receptions to break Desmond Clark's school record of 216 catches, set from 1995-98.
The Biletnikoff Award recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football. The award recipient is selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of over 200 prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers. The 2013 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented live on December 12, 2013, on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show to be broadcast on ESPN.
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. will announce the ten Biletnikoff Award semifinalists on November 18, 2013, following the vote by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee. Likewise, the three finalists will be declared, following another vote, on November 25, 2013.
Campanaro was also named to the 2013 Paul Hornung Watch List which is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend Paul Hornung.
