HAMPTON, VA - Three Winston-Salem State University football players have been selected Players of the Week for their performances on the field versus Johnson C. Smith, as released from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Office. This is the second consecutive week that three Rams have earned conference honors.
Quarterback, Rudy Johnson (6-2, 185, Jr, San Diego, CA) was selected quarterback of the week for the second straight week, as he finished the day 19 of 25 for 208 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns as #16 WSSU defeated Johnson C. Smith, 44-17.
Offensive lineman, Bryan Davis (6-3, 290, Sr, Douglasville, GA) helped guide the WSSU Rams offense to their third straight game of 500+ total yards, as the Rams went for 501 yards including a season high 293 rushing yards in WSSU's win.
Alejandro Suarez (5-6, 145, Jr, Liberty, NC) was perfect once again for WSSU as he connected on all six PAT's in the Rams Homecoming win.
Winston-Salem State travels to Raleigh on Saturday to take on the Falcons of St. Augustine's University at 1:30 p.m. The game will be played at Sanderson High School.
