GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is the Atlantic Coast Conference's rookie of the year.
The league also announced Tuesday that Virginia Tech cornerback Kendall Fuller is its defensive rookie of the year.
Winston had 56 votes after leading the Seminoles to a No. 1 ranking and a spot in the ACC championship game opposite Cutcliffe's Blue Devils.
His 3,490 yards passing are a conference record for rookies and his 35 touchdowns are one shy of the league's single-season record.
