CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It was Food Truck Thursday at Bank of America Stadium.
The Carolina Panthers brought three food trucks to the stadium to feed the players, coaches and staff after practice. One of those was Cam Newton's Smokin' Aces food truck.
Cam's food truck specializes in chicken, fish and shrimp, and also features a variety of Po Boys.
Newton said he created the food truck to interact more with the Charlotte community.
“I just want to have an opportunity to be around more people and talk to more people on my own terms,” Newton told Panthers.com. “Often times as athletes, if we’re in public it’s contractual, or you’re trying to be private and you may not want to be bothered."
Food Truck Thursday was such a big hit, coach Ron Rivera picked up the bill.
Newton’s truck will make its debut on Sunday against San Francisco in a parking lot a few blocks from the stadium - across from the Duke Energy building.
