Wake Forest Loses Garcia To Knee Injury

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest senior nose tackle Johnny Garcia suffered a knee injury in practice on Saturday, August 2 and is expected to miss the entire season.

An MRI confirmed Garcia suffered a torn ACL. He was expected to be a veteran leader on the Demon Deacons' defensive line that lost three starters from last year.

Garcia played in all 12 games in both 2012 and 2013, seeing action on the defensive line and on special teams. He was a tight end as a redshirt freshman in 2011. He suffered torn ACL as a true freshman in 2010.
