Stadler, Gallacher make big moves in world rankings

Philadelphia, PA ( - Kevin Stadler and Steven Gallacher both earned hard-fought wins on Sunday and both made big moves in this week's world golf rankings.

Stadler collected his first PGA Tour title in Phoenix. He soared 70 places to No. 57 this week. Gallacher earned his second straight win at the Dubai Desert Classic, and his third European Tour win in all, and he climbed 30 spots to No. 37 in the new rankings.

Tiger Woods remains the top-ranked player and he was again followed by Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson, Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose.

Zach Johnson and Rory McIlroy exchanged places with Johnson inching up to sixth. Matt Kuchar held steady in eighth and was trailed again by Sergio Garcia, Jason Day and Steve Stricker.

Dustin Johnson improved a pair to 12th and that pushed Ian Poulter and Jason Dufner down one spot apiece to 13 and 14. Graeme McDowell moved up two to 15, Jordan Spieth was 16th again and Brandt Snedeker tumbled two notches to 17th.

Charl Schwartzel, Webb Simpson and Luke Donald rounded out the top 20 again this week.
