Elon Baseball Team Shaves Heads To Strike Out Childhood Cancer

ELON PLAYERS SHAVE HEADS CANCER

ELON, N.C. -- Elon baseball wants to strike out cancer, and for the 6th straight year, the team raised money to fight childhood cancer.

On Thursday night, the Phoenix played Bowling Green. The two teams then partnered with the "versus cancer foundation" for a head-shaving event.

The team's already raised more than 18-thousand dollars this year to fight the disease.

Since the baseball team started the head-shaving event, Elon has raised more than $123,000 to fight childhood cancer.

And if you're curious about the game - Elon won 12-11 on a walk-off home run!
