The game was postponed on Tuesday due to adverse field conditions. The two teams played a game Wednesday night at Burlington Athletic field while field crews got to work at First National Bank Field.

The Carolina Green Corp who initially built the field in 2004 worked on the field replacing the existing sod with Game on Grass. It means the field is surfaced with Bermuda grass. The sod weighs 17 pounds per square foot and can be played on immediately. It has also been used by 6 NFL teams and also in numerous major college athletic fields.
The field got nearly 5” of rain prior to the May 25-31 home stand. The field was tarped for nearly 72 hours and it became diseased and was re-sodded May 31.

Grasshoppers President and General Manager Donald Moore said, “We regret that the weather conditions over the last month required the re-sodding project and are resolving this issue as quickly as we can.”
The doubleheader begins at 5:00 p.m./ on Thursday.
