WITHDRAWAL – Richard Sterne, South Africa
RICHARD STERNE has withdrawn from the 2014 U.S. Open Championship on Wednesday, June 4 because he is still rehabilitating from an undisclosed injury.
Sterne, who was fully exempt, will be replaced by Scott Langley, of Jupiter, Fla., the first alternate from the Memphis, Tenn., sectional qualifying site.
Langley, who will compete in his fourth U.S. Open, shot 69-68--137 at Colonial Country Club on June 2.
WITHDRAWAL – Thomas Bjorn, Denmark
THOMAS BJORN has withdrawn from the 2014 U.S. Open Championship on Wednesday, June 4 because of neck and shoulder injuries.
Bjorn, who was fully exempt and had played in the two previous U.S. Open conducted at Pinehurst No. 2, will be replaced by amateur Andrew Dorn, of West Chester, Ohio, the first alternate from the Springfield, Ohio, sectional qualifying site.
Dorn shot 70-67--137 at Springfield Country Club on June 2. He was also the medalist in local qualifying by carding a course-record 66 at Maketewah Country Club, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
