Greensboro Swarm Hosts Open Tryouts

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Gate City's newest sports team looked to add a few extra members to the roster Sunday.

The Greensboro Swarm hosted open tryouts at the UNCG Kaplan Center for Wellness. About 200 players competed for a spot in the team's upcoming training camp.

The Swarm is the NBA D-League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets.

Players worked out in front of Swarm head coach Noel Gillespie, and his staff, as well as other members of the Hornets organization.

The Swarm's inaugural season tips off Saturday, Nov. 12. Greensboro hosts the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants.

All of the Swarm's home games will be played at the Greensboro Coliseum Pavilion.
