Panthers Thomas Davis Suspension Reduced To 1 Game

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis won't miss the remainder of the regular season after all.

Davis' suspension was reduced from two games to one by appeals officer James Thrash, the NFL announced on Tuesday.

Davis was initially given a two-game ban for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams in the Panthers' 31-24 win on Sunday.

Davis will now miss a Christmas Eve game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will be eligible to return for a Week 17 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Panthers (10-4) are tied with the New Orleans Saints for first place in the NFC South.

Panthers remaining games:

  • December 24: Host Tampa Bay in Charlotte
  • December 31: Panthers head down I-85 South to play Falcons in Atlanta
