Dozens of jobs could be on the way to Alamance County. That's if food services equipment builder Cambro expands in Mebane.
ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. – Alamance County could become an expansion site for Cambro Manufacturing, county officials announced Wednesday.
The company specializes in supplying and manufacturing equipment for the foodservice industry. One of the sites they are considering is at the N.C. Industrial Center in Mebane.
The company is anticipated to create about 100 jobs with an average salary of $44,200.
Alamance County Commissioners say Cambro would create a taxable investment of $33.9 million for building and equipment. The county is willing to offer a cash grant incentive of no more than $678,000. The incentive would be paid over a 5-year period.
Alamance County Manager Craig Honeycutt says there will be a public hearing April 7 at 9 a.m. to discuss Cambro and the incentive.
Honeycutt said he doesn't know which other locations Cambro is considering.
