Asheboro, NC - Imagine a business that you run out of your home being featured in a national magazine. It happened to one Randolph county couple.

Emily and John McCoy operate McCoy Toys in southern Randolph county. In early 2010, the magazine Southern Home Living featured their all-wood checkerboard.

The McCoy'sproduction consists of over 30 different toys, all of which have an historical background, are made of wood, and require no batteries.

The motto for the business 'No Batteries Required-Just Imagination.' Each toy is assembled one at a time, so no two are identical.

While John does all the woodwork, Emily hand paints each toy individually. While most toys have the same paint scheme, the checkerboard can be individually painted to your request.

McCoyToys will be at the Greensboro Craftsman's Classic this Thanksgiving weekend. The Classic is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
