Survivors return to finish line for Monday's Boston Marathon

During the Boston Marathon on Monday, a million people are expected to cheer on 36,000 as they race to the finish line and show the city's resolve after last year's bombings killed three people and injured more than 260 others. The marathon is always run on Patriots Day, a public holiday in Massachusetts and Maine, which marks the start of the American Revolution.

White House Easter Egg Roll

Easter's not quite over yet. Monday is the 136th annual Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House. This year's theme is "Hop into Healthy, Swing into Shape." President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will join 30,000 people for the event that features live music, sports courts, cooking stations, and of course, Easter egg rolling.

Chris Brown's trial starts

A judge has set Monday as the start date for the assault trial of singer Chris Brown in the nation's capital. The case is significant for the Grammy winner not only because he faces up to six months in jail, but also because if convicted he could face additional penalties, including jail time, as a result of an earlier case from California. At the time he was arrested in Washington, Brown was on probation in Los Angeles for an attack on his then-girlfriend, the singer Rihanna, in 2009.

KFC brings back the Double Down

Back in 2010 it was hard to escape news of the KFC Double Down. From The Colbert Report to YouTube, consumers were endlessly intrigued by a bacon 'n' cheese sandwich that used two fried chicken filets instead of a bun. For those who didn't get to sample the meaty menu item, KFC is offering one more chance: Starting Monday, the Double Down will return to the fast-food chain.

Peaches Geldof funeral set for Easter Monday

Peaches Geldof, who died at 25 on April 7, will be laid to rest on Easter Monday in Kent, England. The socialite's family says her funeral will be held at the same church where the funeral for her mother, Paula Yates, was held, reports AP, and where her mother's ashes were scattered in 2000. It's also where Geldof married her second husband, musician Tom Cohen, and where her mom married Irish musician Bob Geldof in 1986.
