CUMBERLAND CO., N.C. -- The man charged with First-Degree Murder in the death of Fort Bragg Soldier Kelli Bordeaux appeared in court Thursday afternoon in Cumberland County.

Fayetteville police say 27-year-old, Nicholas Michael Holbert is also charged with First-Degree Kidnapping. On Wednesday, Fayetteville police said they discovered Bordeaux's body in a wooded area near Interstate 295 corridor in Fayetteville, N.C. Bordeaux was last seen alive on April 24, 2012 at the Froggy Bottoms Bar on Ramsey Street .

According to WRAL, arrest warrants obtained by The Fayetteville Observer reveal Holbert and Bordeaux arrived together at the Froggy Bottoms bar. They were there for several hours until getting into a fight later in the parking lot. Warrants detail Holbert knocked Bordeaux unconscious, carried her into his car and then to where his house which is located behind the bar. It also reveals he continued to hit her several more times until she died.

Holbert claimed he dropped Bordeaux off at her apartment, the documents state. They also said two text messages were sent from her cellphone saying she arrived home. But police do not believe Bordeaux sent that text message.

Police said Holbert was there on Wednesday as they discovered her body and shared 'vital information' with them.

Holbert was order a $250,000 bond on the kidnapping charge and held with no bond on the murder charge.
