WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A man accused of striking a Winston-Salem Police Officer with his car was arrested on Wednesday after a standoff.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and Winston-Salem Police arrested 24-year-old, Eric Wayne Wright Jr. after a 15 minute standoff. Investigators discovered Wright was staying in the area of Cash Drive. After the standoff they made entry into the apartment where they arrested him.

Police said on May 8, Wright assaulted a Winston-Salem Police Officer by hitting him with a vehicle.

Wright is charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver, Trafficking Cocaine (2 counts), Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale and Delivery of Narcotics (2 counts), Manufacture Schedule 1 Narcotics, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Wright was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center on a $325,000 bond.
