GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police in Greensboro say a man was cut in the face with a machete after he intervened in an argument.
Officers were dispatched around 12:10 a.m. to the 2300 block of Columbus Street in reference to an assault. They say they found a man with a cut in the face from a machete. The victim told police he was attacked after he tried to intervene in a money argument between two people.
The victim was taken to Cone Hospital where he received stitches. Police say his injury is non-life threatening.
The person who cut the man had already left the scene when police arrived, and officers are still looking for the person responsible. Police said they believe the assault is possibly drug related.
The investigation is continuing.
