WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Salem College opened its new student center Tuesday afternoon.

The school broke ground on the 15,000-square-foot building in December 2012. The student center cost $6.8 million.

The center houses a book store, theater and coffee shop. Students will have access to a lounge and meeting rooms.

Founded in 1772, Salem College's new student center is the first new building on campus in 32 years.
