GREENSBORO, N.C. – With May being American Stroke Month, two organizations in the Triad helped local race fans learn how to spot a stroke over the weekend.
The American Stroke Association and Novant Health teamed up at Farmington Dragway on Saturday to tell people about the F.A.S.T. system. "F" stands for face drooping, "A" stands for arm weakness, "S" stands for speech difficulty, and "T" stands for time to call 911.
The group says every 40 seconds someone in the United States suffers a stroke. Stroke is the 4th leading cause of death in Davie County, North Carolina, and in the United States.
