GREENSBORO, NC -- One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Six t-shirts. That's all one church ministry needed for its outreach team. The members go into the community to help people in need. They wanted a uniform look. Can you blame them? But when they trusted their order to a local business, they ended up needing some help themselves.
Diane Walker describes the t-shirts. "They were going to be white T-shirts with two words on them. Reaching out." Diane hired Michael Brunson, owner of University Print and Graphics, to make the shirts. The cost - $171.32. Paid for by Diane. The pick up date - December 12. But when she went to the t-shirt shop on East Market Street in Greensboro - no shirts.
Diane says Michael made other pick-up promises over the phone and then put a delivery date in writing: December 20. But still no shirts. She says, "He could've sewn on letters on by now so it was only six T-shirts. He could've gave me the iron."
A few days later, Diane asked for a refund. "My trust had started going down. And like I said I wasn't able to contact him. $171 in my case is not money that I can just throw away."
December 2013 became January 2014 - no shirts, no refund so finally Diane emailed us. We called Michael. The new refund date: Monday, January 27. But can you believe it - still no refund. Then, finally Thursday, January 30 Diane gets a full refund of $171.32.
Michael says there's more to this story but he wouldn't tell 2 Wants to Know, and he says Call for Action is not the reason he finally gave back Diane's money.
Dian says, "I believe it is. If it wasn't, I would've had my money way before now. So I think you are really did help me get this refund. Of course I need more T-shirts.
It's standard for us to check the company out and University Print and Graphics has an F with Better Business Bureau - in part for their history of delivery issues.
There is a key point we don't want you not to miss here - Diane helped us... help her. She had all her documentation - her paid invoice and written delivery dates.
