GREENSBORO, NC -- It's make over week on 2WTK and today we're tackling the ins and outs of your home. We asked the experts at Lowe's Home Improvement on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro to make suggestions on bathroom make overs under $100.
Beatrice Smiley picked several ways to spend the $100 to make the most difference.
Faucet. Most of us have the standard faucet that came with the house. Changing to a faucet with style or one with a different patina can update the bathroom. Add in a few cabinet pulls that match and you can update the look.
Mirror Image. Standard mirrors for bathrooms are the square or rectangle. Remove the plain mirror in exchange for a framed or shaped mirror. Exchange the standard one long mirror over a two sink vanity with two mirrors.
Base Paint. We often think about painting the walls, but Beatrice suggests painting the sink base/vanity cabinet. You want to make sure you use a primer first.
Color It Up. Paint is cheap and easy to change. It can give a fresh feel to the room. Beatrice picked three paint colors to show.
Accessories. Nothing makes a bathroom look well worn like a dingy shower curtain and a stained throw rug. This is an easy fix and a way to splash some color without having to re-do everything.
