GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A new archway was installed Friday at the Ashland Drive entrance to the Greensboro Arboretum.
The archway was commissioned by Greensboro Beautiful and designed by Jim Gallucci, a internationally recognized Greensboro sculptor.
A graduate of LeMoyne College and Syracuse University, Gallucci has been a sculptor for over 30 years. He worked as an art instructor at UNCG and the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He was also an exhibit designer for the NC Zoological Park in Asheboro, NC .
The archway is a culmination of a larger enhancement project by Greensboro Beautiful to improve the entrance to the Greensboro Arboretum on Ashland Drive.
Jennifer Ehlert, Longleaf Design, and Steve Windham, New Garden Landscaping & Nursery designed the project.
Several other area businesses provided in-kind support for the new entrance.
