RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. -- A four-year-old girl is in serious condition at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital after she was ejected from a van Friday morning according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.

Trooper Burroughs tells WFMY News 2 the child was not wearing a seat belt when a car struck the van she was riding in.

The accident happened at the intersection of US 62 and Finch Farm Road after Alisha Hutton of Thomasville, driver of the car, ran a red light, hitting the van.

The driver of the van, Luz Cerda of Archdale, was charged with a child restraint violation.
