AHOSKIE, N.C.-- A Family is mourning after the deaths of two girls who were killed Thursday morning in a house fire. The fire happened in Ahoskie, NC. Fire investigators told CBS Affiliate WTKR that two other people in the house were also injured.

Chief Ken Dilday said they received the call to a house on N. Mitchell Street in Ahoskie around 3:00 a.m.

The two girls were found in the home and transported to Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, he said. The girls ages were 12 and 13, officials said.

Two others injured in the fire have been identified as 54-year-old man and another 8-year-old child, officials say. They were airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

The fire marshal's office has not determined the cause of the fire. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation as well as the Ahoskie Police Department are assisting with the investigation.
