PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. – Starting Monday, Piedmont Natural Gas will inspect a 13-mile stretch of pipeline near Pleasant Garden for about a week.
During the inspections, the gas company may need to use a flare stack burn off extra natural gas used during the inspections. The flare stack could make loud noises and produce tall flames.
Piedmont Natural Gas says neighbors and nearby businesses should not be concerned and that the flames are part of a controlled process.
The inspections are done to fulfill regulations by the Federal Department of Transportation.
