A Greensboro police officer shot a woman after he responded to a domestic disturbance call Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Greensboro Police Department, an officer responded to a call on Hewitt Street, near Aberdeen Townhomes. Police said Chieu-di Thi Vo, 47, was threatening another woman with a knife.
One of the responding officers, Officer T.J. Bloch, told her to drop the knife, but instead she approached the officer while holding it. Bloch fired his gun at Thi Vo, who was taken to Moses Cone Hospital. The police department says she's in serious, but stable condition as of Tuesday night.
Bloch will be placed on administrative duties during the shooting investigation, which is standard procedure during an investigation with an officer-involved shooting. He's been with the department since 2008.
