REIDSVILLE, N.C. – Reidsville Senior High School is no longer on lockdown.
On Friday morning, police investigated a claim from an anonymous caller that there was a weapon on campus.
A Rockingham County Schools spokesperson said investigators found some tobacco products and a small pocketknife.
The sheriff's office told WFMY News 2 investigators searched lockers and cars.
Parents arriving at the school are being directed to a staging area.
The school district says someone called and hung up right away after reporting a student has a weapon.
As a precaution, the school district placed two nearby schools on transitional lockdown: Reidsville Middle School and South End Elementary School. A transitional lockdown is when the front door is locked, but the school continues its regular operations.
No injuries were reported.
