RANDLEMAN, N.C. -- A former Randleman Police employee was indicted Wednesday on larceny charges.
Randleman Chief of Police, Steven Leonard told WFMY News 2 a Randolph County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment for Larceny against Sharon Ledbetter Hardison, who was an employee when the crime happened.
Leonard said during an inventory of the evidence room, officers discovered more than $7800.00 was missing. Leonard said he then contacted the District Attorney's Office and a request was made to the State Bureau of Investigation to take over the investigation.
Hardison had been employed with the Randleman Police Department since 1995 until she was terminated in November 2013 according to Leonard. She had been the department's custodian since early 2000.
